How to Clean and Recycle the Aarke Purifier

Take good care of your Purifier and it will serve you well for years to come. Here are some things to consider.

Cleaning the Purifier

Clean the Purifier at least once a week. All parts can be washed in the dishwasher. However, do not put the filter cartridge in the dishwasher with granules still in it. But an empty filter cartridge is, of course, 100% dishwasher safe.

1. Remove the lid and rinse it under running water. Let it dry.

2. Take out the filter cartridge and set it aside to boil it later (instructions below).

3. Take the hopper out of the glass carafe and put it in the dishwasher.

4. Turn the empty glass carafe upside down and place it in the dishwasher.

If you don’t have a dishwasher, disassemble the Purifier in a similar way and clean it using warm water, dishwashing liquid and a sponge.

Boiling the filter cartridge

For hygienic reasons and 100% product safety, we recommend that you boil the filter cartridge once a week. Put the filter cartridge, with the granules still in it, in boiling water for 3 minutes. Let it cool. Put the filter cartridge back into the hopper and fill the Purifier with water. Pour the first batch of water away and fill it again. Enjoy!

Changing the granules

The granules can be used for 4 weeks or for 120 liters of filtered water. Thereafter the granules are to be replaced. The granules should be disposed in the household waste. Wash the filter cartridge before you fill it with new granules. For best quality of water, store the Purifier in the fridge.

Lime residues

Lime residues on the Purifier can be removed with limescale removal agents. Do not use steel wool.

Recycling

The Purifier and its associated items are designed and manufactured with high-quality materials and components which can be recycled and reused. Separate the parts of the Purifier, including the packaging, and recycle them according to local regulations.
